Coolest Guy On The Planet – Mafia Offer

Posted by planet on Jul 21, 2010 in coolest guy planet

Does your business have a sales and Marketing offer so good that your customers will not refuse it and your competitors can not match it?

We call this a “Mafia offer” and it is based on the work of Dr Eliyaha Goldratt and the “Theory of Constraints”

Below this advert for Visa illustrates the idea of Constraints.

Find the problem then build in buffers to compensate.

Three constraints;
1 – Money Throughput
2 – Inventory
3 – Operating Expense (money spent turning 2 into 1)

The process of ongoing improvement;
1 – Gain Agreement on the problem
2 – Gain Agreement on the direction for a solution
3 – Gain agreement that the solution solves the problem
4 – Agree to overcome any potential ramifications
5 – Agree to overcome any obstacles to implementation.

Increase capacity with little or no investment then Sell the new Capacity

1 – What are your internal capabilities compared to your competition?
2 – How does your industry sell what you sell?
3 – Understand how your clients are impacted by your current capabilities and how you sell.

Coolest Guy On The Planet – Andy Jenkins

Posted by planet on Dec 8, 2009 in coolest guy planet

Could Andy Jenkins, former CEO of Stompernet be the coolest guy on the planet, according to Google? Maybe. Here he is in the second of three videos, explaining why duplicate content will kill your website.

Here is a summary, continued from part One;
Bad Rankings
If the majority of pages on your website are considered duplicate content by the search engines this will lead to slow death of your site, where the only page listed in the Search Engine Index is your homepage. Therefore your site will only appear in search results when someone types in your exact URL, It’s not going to happen!

Look at your website as the Search Engines see it, The frame of the page consisting of;
1. Page Header
2. Left Hand Navigation
3. Footer
4. Right hand column
Refer to these as a site template, as these items will remain constant throughout the website. The part of the site that will change is the Middle of the page, Andy calls this “The content Container”.

To ensure you eliminate duplicate content, do the following;
1. Identify the word count for your site template.
Then Create more unique content in your “Content Container”, than you have in your “Site Template”

This will reduce sameness and increase the possibility of being indexed by the Search Engines.

2. Do not have duplicate title tags for any of your sites pages.

As Google can’t read the video below, I have translated it here so the Search Engines can crawl the words and index this page a unique content for my site. Bottom line is, if a large part of your site is going to be re-occurring (like the frame – site template), make it into an image so the Search Engines don’t crawl it and determine it as duplicate content.
